THE OPPORTUNITY An exciting opportunity is opening at The Mission Continues. Join our Regional Operations Team in our Senior Manager of Regional Operations role, create new opportunities and drive our next level of impact with veteran volunteers across the country. We're seeking creative problem solvers, strategic thinkers and volunteer managers who can motivate and energize staff and volunteers. Are you ready to join our team? Flexible location but preference of hire for the West Region will be in: Denver, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Seattle, or Portland. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: - Coach and support a motivated team focused on supporting veteran volunteer Platoon Leadership Teams leading service projects in local communities. Your team will coach and support these volunteer leaders in establishing partnerships, developing strong leadership teams, volunteer engagement, project management, and ensuring alignment with The Mission Continues mission and vision. - Create, improve, and implement standard operating procedures and tools, monitor use, and provide feedback on best practices and improvements across the country. - Lead execution of National campaigns, deployments, and sponsored projects, ensuring Regional Operations is providing high quality opportunities for volunteers and funders to participate in service. - Partner with the development team to increase the quality of donor engagement across your portfolio and identify new partnership opportunities. - Collect and review platoon-level data on a consistent basis so that you can make quick, informed, data-driven decisions that lead to operational success. - Manage compliance in your region, ensure partner MOUs are executed, financial reporting is accurate and on schedule, and budget data is available to ROMs to keep platoons on track with spending. - Support annual planning at the platoon level, ensuring all platoons have a plan in place and are posting events with appropriate lead time to generate interest and participation that equates to exponentially more activations and veterans' engagement. - Develop appropriate goals for Regional Operations Managers according to organizational KPI's and strategic direction while holding all direct reports accountable and empowering them to success. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: - An experienced leader with 5 years of coaching and mentoring both staff and volunteers who can inspire the TMC team to grow the movement of veteran-led service. - A project manager who can both brainstorm new ideas and develop and implement strategic with specific milestones. - An analytical thinker who works with our impact team to gather the data necessary to develop sound strategies and pivot quickly to address emerging challenges. - A culture carrier who has a track record of leading through change while building a cohesive and high-performing team . - An ambassador of the organization who is comfortable speaking about our work, interacting with partners and donors, and stewarding new and existing relationships. - A planner who can condense data, feedback, and trends into actionable strategies for their team. - A passionate, culturally competent individual who can successfully work with diverse groups and individuals regardless of race, gender, income, identity, sexuality, disability, and veteran status. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Military service is a plus - Experience leading a remote team - Experience working with and managing volunteers TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Willingness to travel locally to support coaching opportunities and service in your community. National training and events can be expected to require 2-5 days in cities across the country, and are based on team and staffing needs, approx. 2-3 times per quarter. Multi-day and/or weekend travel will be required for program event dates, national campaign projects, and sponsor events, flex time is available.
